- From The Dixon Tribune - From open field to film studio: Los Angeles company plans to develop studio off West A Street - A well-known Los Angeles based film company is looking to expand in northern California, and it appears representatives have found their ideal location within the city of Dixon. Morning View, LLC is proposing to build an entertainment studio on a 400-acre piece of land on what was once the Southwest Development, off A Street between Pitt School Road and Interstate 80. The estimated $2.8 billion project promises to be a 100 percent green community, with union driven jobs and American products and a philanthropic-driven goal to donate proceeds to the local community and health research. Dixon City Manager Jim Lindley describes the film studio as a big “shot in the arm” for the local community, and a win-win for everyone involved. Carissa Carpenter, the CEO and chairman of Morning View, is just as enthused about the proposed project. More on Facebook
